Herb Rubbed Steaks

A juicy steak, grilled to perfection. One of America's classic recipes! Prep-time: 15 minutes - Grilling time 12 to 22 minutes

1 1 to 1½ pound boneless beef sirloin steak, cut 1 to 1½ inches thick (Order below)

¼ cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried herb (either thyme, basil, oregano, or rosemary)

¼ teaspoon of salt

⅛ teaspoon pepper

Bottled barbecue sauce (Optional)

  • Trim fat from steak. Combine onion, garlic, herb or seasoning, salt and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle evenly over both sides of meat; rub in with your fingers.
  • Grill steak on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals to desired doneness, turning once halfway through grilling time. For medium doneness, allow 12 to 15 minutes total for a 1-inch thick steak; 18 to 22 minutes for 1½-inch steak. During cooking, brush steak occasionally with barbecue sauce, if desired. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
